RSEC Academy Students Explore Medical Careers During Visit to Spinal Corrective Center

As part of the school’s ongoing opportunities for students to explore different careers, students from The RSEC Academy recently visited the Spinal Corrective Center Chiropractic and Vitality Studio (SCC) in Amherst. Dr. Jenny Bruck, SCC’s owner and Doctor of Chiropractic, gave an informative guided tour into the benefits of chiropractic services and how joint adjustments provide whole health wellness.

During the tour of her facility, Dr. Bruck showed students how she typically conducts initial consultations and the instruments she uses to see and determine areas of need for adjustments. Students got a firsthand look at the patient experience and were invited to step on a whole-body scale so Dr. Bruck could determine problematic posture areas and possible areas of joint strain.

The RSEC Academy helps high school students overcome learning challenges in a supportive environment, so they become independent learners with strong literacy skills. In addition to an individualized curriculum, students gain an understanding of their learning challenges and the communication skills they need to confidently and successfully return to their school district, post-secondary education, or work setting.

In addition to touring Dr. Bruck’s practice, students observed her positivity, willingness, and drive to help others, which are values at the forefront of her practice, and important aspects of The RSEC Academy’s approach to education.

The RSEC Academy and its students would like to thank Dr. Bruck and her practice for providing insights about wellness and healthcare as a potential future career path. Partnerships such as this experiential learning opportunities for students and helps connect classroom concepts to real-world applications.
