Administrative Assistant – Longview School

Longview School, located in Deerfield, N.H., is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join its close-knit team, and provide support to administration, teaching staff and students.  This position is a full-time school year position, with part-time summer hours included. The Longview School offers a positive working environment and is a small progressive therapeutic alternative school serving more than 20 communities in Southern New Hampshire.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Answering the phone
  • Greeting students and visitors
  • Filing and data entry
  • Maintain accurate student files with all necessary information for non-public school and special education requirements, such as report cards, transcripts and school related documents

Qualifications:

  • Must also be willing to plan and take part in adventure-based counseling activities within a small team
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Have the ability to multitask while maintaining a calm, pleasant and positive demeanor
  • Experience working in a school setting is a plus

Math Teacher – Longview School

The Longview School, located in Deerfield, NH, is seeking a dynamic math teacher to provide instruction to high school aged teenagers in a small therapeutic school community. At capacity, Longview enrolls 22 students and has a small, tightly knit team who strive to provide the best learning environment possible for our students as they work toward graduation.

Our robust Adventure Based Counseling program sets us apart from other similar settings and offers our staff one day a week in the field. On these days staff facilitate outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, flatwater and whitewater canoeing and various team building games. The Longview School offers a supportive working environment and is a small therapeutic alternative school serving more than 20 communities in Southern New Hampshire.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lesson planning and instruction of all required math content areas
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Development of experiential activities

Qualifications:

  • NH Teaching Certificate or educational qualifications in a related field
  • Knowledge of Common Core and NH Curriculum Standards
  • Knowledge of special education, alternative instructional strategies, learning disabilities, emotional, behavioral and mental health needs
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion for the outdoors is a plus
