About RSEC
Learn about The RSEC Academy
The RSEC Academy is a diploma-granting, private, not-for-profit program for students with special needs and learning disabilities serving grades five through 12.
We are approved by the NH Department of Education as a Non-Public School, and for Special Education – specifically for students with specific learning disabilities, Autism, emotional disturbance (such as anxiety disorder or school phobia), other health impairments, speech or language impairment, deafness or hearing impairment.
Belonging
It is never too late to start learning. With an emphasis on literacy, our experienced team of educators and support staff help students see the path to their individual success while understanding how specific challenges impact performance and interactions with others. Small class sizes and collaborative, inclusive projects emphasize individual value and build confidence for the next step in their academic or professional career.
Individualized experiences
At The RSEC Academy, we understand that every student learns differently, which is why each student's experience is unique. Our recipe for success includes individualized learning, community involvement, classroom skills, and adventure-based activities. Students and staff work together to achieve academic goals while understanding and overcoming unique challenges. This collaboration empowers students to advocate for themselves and confidently articulate the tools, technology, and accommodations they need to excel.
At The RSEC Academy High School, we offer more than just high school credits. Our students gain a deeper understanding of themselves and develop the interpersonal communication skills needed to confidently transition back to their school district, pursue post-secondary education, or enter the workforce. Outside-the-classroom experiences reinforce key concepts, while our tailored lessons focus on individual strengths and learning goals. This holistic approach ensures students grow and thrive as they embark on the next step of their journey.
Creative curriculum
In parallel with a student’s individualized education program (IEP) developed by school district professionals, teachers and staff at The RSEC Academy teach transition and life skills by connecting concepts to real-life situations, such as turning a trip to the grocery store into a lesson in math, efficiency and teamwork.
The mission of The RSEC Academy is to provide students with skills and strategies that will allow them to transition successfully back to their sending school, on to further education, or to the community workforce.
